Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's food is an invitation to explore deep into her personal world. She began to be interested in food when she moved from suburbs of Long Island to the diverse culture in Los Angeles. Carnitas, Cavatelli and other dishes can all coexist on one menu. This is a constantly shifting taste. What remains is her singular idea of the future and looking back to the past. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso established Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian is regarded as one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian eateries. The food at Lofaso is always genuine, warm and delicious. Lofaso trained under famous chefs and learned their advanced methods but she never afraid to go against her gut intuitions. She quickly climbed the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago and then went on to transform various high-profile kitchens located in Los Angeles while working closely with many high-profile celebrities. Lofaso worked together with Sal Aurora to create Black Market Liquor Bar which was the first bar to open in Studio City. Through Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found a home. Lofaso had the chance to enjoy the creative freedom she longed for. Black Market is not constrained to a specific direction and that is the intention. It would start with potato chips flavored with dill, Shishito peppers, and continue with Korean wings. Antonia provides the overwhelming range of flavors. Lofaso's success has been measured through her ability to remain authentic to her own taste while understanding her audience. Her appearances on the Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars emphasized her ability to express her self outside of the culinary environment. In the years since she's maintained her professional career before cameras, including judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge as well as regular appearances on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso published The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Simple and Delicious recipes in 2012, along with Penguin. It also told the story of her challenges when she was a student in the French Culinary Institute. She was raising her daughter Xea and her son Xea. Lofaso insists that the source of driving force behind her achievements is her kitchen. It's through this vein she is always on pulse. Chefletics has revolutionized chef attire by blending style with function. Her main focus is to stay committed to her goals. To achieve this goal she has launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This gives customers an extremely personal experience.
